Tall buildings in America…

One evening while we were in New York we visited the Rockefeller building. It is one of the tallest towers in New York! The view there was stunning and I felt so high up. We could visit 3 floors at the top of the tower. It was amazing. One of the people who worked there said it would take hours and hours for someone to walk up to the top because there were 69 floors. Being on the top floor made me feel a bit scared and excited all at the same time.

We also visited ground zero. This was where a plane flew through 2 buildings as a passenger made the pilots do that. The plane exploded while the building collapsed in flames . At the same time this was happening 2 other planes were trying to aim for the White House and the Pentagon as well but fortunately people on the planes managed to stop the terrorists hitting these buildings. Where the buildings were burnt down there were two monuments and it had all the people’s names who died in the buildings along the side and the firefighters who tried to help save the people inside. While we were looking at the monuments, there were other people very emotional, putting flowers by the names of those who had died and even some people were kneeling down on the floor sobbing. When I was watching all of this it made me feel very upset and I could imagine it all happening at that moment.
