A local Costa Rican school

We had always wanted to go to a school in Costa Rica. This one we visited only had one classroom for all the years! It didn’t have much decoration on the walls either or many tables. They had two computers which were very old. The classroom had 5 miniature desks and a longish table in the middle of the room. The teacher had a small desk to work at and to mark children’s work. We were thinking of buying them some posters to decorate the walls with as they looked very plain.
The teacher lived in his house next door. It wasn’t very big and he lived there with his children and wife. The school had only seven pupils in total. It had about one pupil per year!
Unfortunately the children weren’t there as the Christmas holidays had begun which is very early for us.
Fin said that while we were in the classroom a toucan flew past the window (imagine that while you are learning)! We didn’t stay very long but it was still amazing to see how the children worked.
