Waikiki

We left the north shore and headed over to Waikiki on the south shore. It was about an hour and a half drive as there had been an accident but normally it would take about forty five minutes.

Once we had arrived we booked into our hotel (because they were painting the rooms we got a penthouse with an amazing view). We  looked around the hotel. We had a very hot swimming pool and jacuzzi on the roof of our hotel. Mum and I walked down to the beach and I had some pizza and Mum had a salad. For our drinks I had a strawberry lemonade and Mum had an aloe Vera drink.  There was live Hawaiian music playing.

We decided that it was too hot to shop, so we went onto the beach and hired an umbrella and chairs to keep us out of the sun. We jumped in the sea and had a swim. There were lots of surfers learning to surf right out at sea as it was tiny.

While I was swimming I saw the boys down the beach and ran over to them. They said that they had just been surfing. I asked if I could go surfing with Fin so we hired a twelve foot board and paddled out.

When we were out there we caught a couple of waves. We got bored after a while so we messed around and paddled in. Once we were in the shallows Fin held the board and I tried standing up a couple of times but I just fell off. Mum and Dad took the board out for Mum to try surfing on. Fin and I wanted to hire a stand up paddle board and went to join them. I caught a wave alone and was standing up!!!  Mum and I had a competition surfing into the beach and I won.

Once we had paddled in it had just started getting dark so we all went to a cafe and watch the sunset. It was beautiful. We were walking back to our hotel when we saw lots of people watching something. It was people singing Christmas songs and doing hawaiian dancing to the songs (they were a bit out of tune). We went back to the hotel and went for a jacuzzi and then had showers and got ready to go out.

We went to a restaurant called the  Cheesecake Factory which had 20 or 30 different cheesecakes and yummy food. We walked back to our hotel and went to bed. We were ready to get up at half past five to get on the plane to Australia.
