Australia

When we arrived in Australia we decided to have some time off learning and blogging over Christmas and new year. Now the blogs are back up and running and I will tell you about my best experiences in Australia.

Here is a story line of my favourite experiences in Australia.

  • Ian and Chris’s boat

Every time we go on Ian and Chris’s boat it’s really relaxing.  We usually go to an island call Carnack and have lunch there and swim. Also Summer and I always have a go at driving and surprisingly it’s actually very tricky because the waves hit one corner of the boat and it spins round so you have to constantly be concentrating

  • Surfing at Margret river

We stayed at Margret River for 4 nights and went surfing every day. This was my favourite ot because I got my best waves here. It was also the biggest I have ever caught waves in because on the last day it was 6-8 ft.

  • My birthday

I really enjoyed my birthday because usually in England it’s too cold to do anything but here we went for a swim before breakfast and went on the boat.

  • Christmas Day

On Christmas Day we went round for lunch at Ian and Chris’s house and opened presents and played games. It was really relaxing and enjoyable. For lunch we had a whole ham, that we are still eating for lunch and snacks 24 days later.

  • A festive Christmas house

Over the Christmas Period some people in Fremantle decorate their whole house and let people come in for free. They said they start decorating in November and do a couple of hours a day. Every down stairs room was full of huge Christmasy scenes.

  • New year

My favourite bit of new year was when we took the dogs for a walk and played on the cricket cradle. It was good fun trying to do diving catches and make it as difficult as possible for the other people to catch the ball.

  • Meeting the Everitts

On the way to Parry Beach we stopped in Yallingup to meet the Everitts for a couple of nights. It was great to meet them because we all got on rally well and had a fantastic time. My favourite part was when I was playing badminton in the garden/outback with Sam, Lilli, Summer and Danny and a kangaroo came bouncing past.

  • Road trips

Coming back from Parry Beach to Fremantle was a 6 hour drive in a very tightly packed car. It was amazing because all the roads were straight and empty and we saw loads of kangaroos.

  • kangaroos

In Yallingup the kangaroos came into the garden every evening. Mum was even lucky enough to see two kangaroos fighting.

  • Fishing and camping at Parry Beach

On Parry Beach I went fishing off the rocks while dad went into the next town to hire a wetsuit, which was a twenty minute drive away. Before he got back I caught a Skippy and two other smaller fish. When I waded out to the rocks the water was up to my waist but when dad came back it was up to his chest so it was lucky he came when he did. That evening we cooked them on an open fire and ate them for a starter. They were delicious.

  • Kayaking

Every time we go to the beach we take the kayak. It’s really fun paddling around on it and catching small waves. Somehow we managed to fit it in the car with the surfboards and the fishing rods to take it to Yallingup and Parry Beach. It was a bit tight in the car but it was worth it to use in the sea and green pools a beautiful place in South WA that Summer has written about.

They were my favourite bits of our visit to Australia.
